What is somatic intimacy coaching & bodywork?
Somatic intimacy coaching & bodywork is a body-based practice that helps you come home to your body and erotic self.
It’s about learning through the body — feeling, and exploring what you are noticing. And slowly expanding your capacity for pleasure, presence, and wellbeing.
It’s not about fixing anything. It’s about remembering what your body already knows. It all begins with your question: What do you want to explore, learn, or address?
This approach emphasizes learning to trust and enjoy your body through somatic practices. We do this by slowing down, connecting to your body with specific exercises and making pleasure the priority.
Topics in somatic intimacy coaching and bodywork can include:
Addressing challenges or desires related to sex, intimacy, arousal, shame and pleasure
Improving the connection to your body and increasing awareness of body sensations
Identifying and articulating your desires, boundaries, and needs
Working with body image / body awareness
Masturbation / self-pleasure coaching
Working with scar tissue
(Re)connecting with your body after gender affirming care
Finding new perspectives in connecting to your genitals
Exploring pleasure beyond genitals
What does a session look like?
Every session follows the same session structure
The session follows a general flow that is the same every time: we begin by taking time to land and discuss your learning question or intention for the session.
The core of the session involves a somatic practice tailored to address your specific inquiry. I will offer you different somatic practices that you can choose from. Somatic means that we focus on the experiences of the body.
We will co-create the container of the practice together. For example: you decide how long you want to do a certain practice. And we talk about any boundaries or trepidation you have towards the practice.
After the somatic practice we take time to integrate and reflect.
I also invite you to share feedback about what worked well for you in the session and what didn’t. I invite you to be honest with me.
Examples of somatic practices
Body scan and body focusing where I will guide you to tune into your body and become aware of what’s alive there.
Body story: a guided practice where you give a voice to your body or a certain part of your body and let it speak.
I want practice: writing down what it is exactly that you want, reading your wants out loud and becoming aware of the sensations in your body while writing/voicing your wants.
Wheel-of-Consent exercises: practicing with making clear requests, saying (and feeling!) ‘yes’ and ‘no’, playing the 3 minute game.
The distance game: noticing what comfortable and uncomfortable feel like in your body.
Working with shame by moving out of a shame response.
Bossy massage: you telling me how you want to be touched / massaged
Examples of sexological bodywork practices
In some practices, I may offer one-way touch (from me to you) only if you feel curious about it and if it feels helpful for your learning.
